DIY Scented Sachets

VIDEO: Go ahead and make these frugal scented sachets for your linen closet, car, luggage and clothes drawers. This is a simple DIY project with big results. I like using rice as the main ingredient because the grains absorb scents really, really well. My favourite combination for the sachets is vanilla and mint. But, it’s easy to play around with the smells you like best, especially if you have essential oils in your cupboard.

SUPPLIES

  • Refillable tea bags and/or small mesh bags
  • Scotch Mints
  • Rice
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Optional: essential oils, ground cardamom, cinnamon sticks, cloves, etc.

    How long do these last?

Hi Jessica, thanks for asking! They last about three months but could last even longer if you soak the rice with more extract for longer.

Knitted teddy bears sounds like a sweet project and I hope the sachets work! You could scent the rice with lavender essential oil…any essential oil in fact. Thanks for taking a read.
